Bug Storeys is all about learning to love, protect and nurture nature. It’s about conserving,

appreciating and interacting with our environment and the wildlife that inhabits it. Our purpose

is to capture the imagination and interest of children and adults all over Britain by engaging in a

whole range of exciting experiences, resources and activities designed to inspire a lasting

connection with - and respect for - British wildlife and the natural world.

We want to get children off the sofa, away from their screens and into the great outdoors.

We want to put colour back into their cheeks, get their hands dirty and help everyone to help

save native species for future generations to enjoy. We’re putting nature back into people’s

lives, one storey at a time.

Bug Storeys encourages interaction with nature on so many levels. It all starts

with the unique Bug Storeys Habitat, which provides protection, food and

breeding grounds for native creatures of all shapes and sizes – and helps

children and adults to better understand them, too. From bees to butterflies,

newts to hedgehogs, and everything in between, it helps you to put pollinators,

natural pest controllers and endangered species back into school grounds,

gardens and community spaces all over the country. How amazing is that?

Every Bug Storeys structure is unique. Built by one of our qualified Bug Rangers to suit your

specific environment, it is just the beginning of a whole new interactive learning experience

that grows year by year. From fun, informative workshops to themed talks, our

knowledgeable Bug Rangers have ecology, zoology and conservation credentials to bring

the Bug Storeys experience to life in memorable and inspirational ways:

For schools, we have developed a suite of Bug Storeys teaching resources including lesson plans, activities and project work especially developed to meet national curriculum learning outcomes across all key subjects. We also offer a range of brilliant ‘Bug Day’ workshops designed to entertain and educate kids on a whole variety of buggy subjects.

For families, we offer Bug Parties for birthdays and special occasions, games and activities, a regular newsletter and a host of wonderful wildlife stories across an ever-expanding library of irresistible,

interactive e-books.

For gardeners, we offer useful hints and tips, a regular Bug Ranger gardening blog and the chance to get involved in our bug watch and garden wildlife surveys.

For community groups we provide opportunities to engage in a variety of nature-based projects designed to enhance the local community and bring people together for the common good.

For everyone, Bug Storeys is a living, breathing biology lesson. It’s a fun and fabulous

food chain. It’s a brilliant way to get outdoors, get busy and get inspired by nature in

all its glory.
